What's New in NodeStorm: Free Tier, Image Analysis, and an API

July 27, 2026

I've been heads-down building for the last couple of months. Here's what actually shipped.

Try NodeStorm for free#

You no longer need a credit card to use NodeStorm. Free accounts get 100 node executions a month, 2 emails a day, a weekly schedule, and 10MB of file storage.

That's enough to build a real workflow (a weekly digest, a scrape-and-summarize pipeline) and run it for a month before deciding whether it's worth paying for. If you've been on the fence, this is your excuse.

Workflows can look at images now#

The new Image Analysis node sends images to a vision model along with your instruction and returns an answer. It handles up to 10 images per call, and it can pull them from URLs, from files in your storage, or from whatever a parent node found.

Pair it with the scraper, which can now preserve links and image sources from the pages it visits, and you can build flows like "scrape this listing page, open each detail page, and tell me which ones have photos matching my criteria." That kind of scan used to require a human with a browser tab and patience.

Trigger flows from outside NodeStorm#

There's now a proper API for running flows. POST to a flow with your access token, get a run id back, poll it for results. You can also override the entry node's input per request, so the same flow can run against different input each time.

This means your flows aren't locked inside NodeStorm anymore. Trigger them from a script, a cron job on your own server, a shortcut on your phone, anywhere that can make an HTTP request. The flow editor has a new API dialog with a copy-paste example to get you started.

NodeStorm in your AI chat#

The nodestorm-mcp package is on npm. Add it to Claude (or any MCP client) and you can list your flows, build new ones, and run them from a chat, without opening the app.

Between the API and MCP, the theme is the same: build the workflow once, then reach it from wherever you already work.

A new look#

The entire app moved to Glass, our new design system. Homepage, dashboard, flow editor, chat, run pages, all of it. One consistent visual language and a dark mode that actually covers every screen, replacing the three different UI kits the app had accumulated.

Small things you'll notice#

  • The scraper automatically retries protected sites through a premium proxy, and remembers which domains need it. Fewer mysterious scrape failures.
  • Run pages load large results lazily, so opening a big run is fast.
  • Transient LLM provider errors retry with backoff instead of failing your node.

That's the batch. If you build something with any of this, I'd genuinely like to hear about it. There's a feedback form in the app, and I read everything that comes through it.
